Safety Guidelines¶
Read Before Operating
All operators must read and understand these safety guidelines before operating S.A.A.R.T.H.I.
General Safety¶
- Never operate the system without valid corridor access permissions
- Always coordinate with station master and obtain block/OHE clearance
- Wear mandatory PPE: high-visibility vest, safety shoes, hard hat
- Maintain communication with control room at all times
- Know the emergency stop procedure before starting any run
Electrical Safety¶
- Do not open the compute enclosure in the field
- Handle batteries per manufacturer guidelines
- Do not operate in heavy rain or standing water
Track Safety¶
- Follow all railway safety rules per the operating corridor's authority
- Clear the track immediately when block time expires
- Be aware of adjacent line traffic at all times
Emergency Procedures¶
- Emergency Stop: Document the e-stop procedure
- Equipment failure on track: Document the recovery procedure
- Medical emergency: Document the first-response protocol
